HOW WE STARTED
Dehradun already had many of the ingredients companies look for: strong educational institutions, deep technology and services talent, proximity to Delhi NCR, lower operating costs, improving connectivity, and a quality of life that professionals in larger metros increasingly aspire to. What it lacked was the workspace infrastructure to make it a credible, professional, and scalable business address.
That was the gap IKSANA was created to close.
When we started, Dehradun had real business activity, but growing companies had limited choices. They often had to rely on conventional local properties, undertake their own fit-outs, manage facilities in-house, deal with rigid landlord arrangements, and compromise on the professional environment they wanted for their teams and clients. There was no professionally operated managed workspace brand in the city that could offer the kind of ready-to-move infrastructure, service standards, flexibility, and community that companies were used to seeing in larger metros.
IKSANA brought that model to Dehradun — but built it for the realities of an emerging city.
We did not set out to simply copy what large workspace operators had built in metros, where demand density, real estate economics, and customer behaviour are very different. We built for how businesses actually operate in emerging markets: with the need for flexibility, cost discipline, personal accountability, operational reliability, and trust.
True to the meaning of our name — IKSANA, to take care — our approach combines the professionalism of managed offices with the warmth of hospitality, treating the workspace not merely as real estate to be managed, but as an environment to be cared for every day.
This is why our model differs materially from conventional coworking operators. We operate as a full-service workspace ecosystem rather than a desk provider. We are purpose-built for emerging markets where unit economics, service delivery, and client relationships require a different operating discipline. And we remain founder-led and financially disciplined, creating a level of accountability that a chain-led or franchised model cannot easily replicate.
Over time, we have learned that the community inside IKSANA matters as much as the infrastructure itself.
